Yes, I make it easy. Just call me!

How long are therapy sessions?

I offer an initial phone consultation so you can share a bit about what's been going on. Call me or send a message through my contact page. At the end of our consultation we’ll book the date of your first session. I can get you a session time as quickly as 24 to 48 hours
Individual sessions are available in the following increments: 50-minute, 90-minute (1.5 hours) and 2-hours . Trauma work can be tricky; some days 50-minutes may be all you need, and other times, more time is necessary to support you. That’s why I reserve a 2 hour time slot for all my clients, just in case you need it. No pressure either way.
Sessions where we utilize EMDR and other non-talk therapy modalities benefit from being 90 minutes to 2 hours. Progress goes very quickly with this technique. The longer sessions help ensure that we get to complete what we started. Expect rapid results.

How often will we meet?

Therapy is most effective when it is done consistently for a duration of time.
Typically, clients meet one to two times per week.
I do understand that situations will vary, and we can discuss your individual needs.

How do I get started and set up my first appointment?

Fill out the consultation form and request a chat with Joanna Rose, MA AMFT or call her directly.

How do I pay for my sessions?

I take cash, debit, and credit cards.

Do you take insurance?

You may have out-of-network benefits included in your insurance plan. This means you may be able to claim partial reimbursement for the sessions. Upon request, I can provide you with superbills with all the necessary reimbursement information. Superbills also can be used for your taxes at the end of the year.
My clients prefer personalized, high-level service that is not dictated by managed care’s restraints. I will not diagnose you and send your information to an insurance company to become part of your permanent record.
This grants you the freedom to come to sessions whenever you choose and do the work at your pace.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you are not able to make it to a session, I kindly ask for a 48-hours’ notice. Appointments canceled within 24 hours of the session time will be charged to your account for the full session fee.

How do I know if I need therapy?

“We can’t change anything until we get some fresh ideas, until we begin to see things differently.”

– James Hillman

There are countless reasons people seek therapy. When it has become abundantly clear that the tactics you have tried are not working and you are experiencing pain and suffering, consider therapy.

What kinds of people do you help?

I help people learn skills to set themselves free from their past, their pain, and their suffering. People who have experienced a lifetime of hurts and traumas and who recognize that their suffering has become unbearable.

People who know the insidious nature of narcissistic abuse. People who have experienced domestic abuse and violence, financial abuse, gaslighting and mind games. I help those who have lost themselves and become small but who have so much inside that they want to achieve, to see, to create, and to be.

What will the sessions be like?

In the beginning, we will spend a good deal of time gathering information. We will discover what you need most urgently and identify other areas that require our attention.
As treatment progresses, we will focus diligently on building your strong foundation. The goal is for you to leave treatment confident, peaceful, strong, and focused.

How long will I be in therapy?

I wish I could crunch the numbers and give you an exact timeframe, but that is not how therapy works. Everyone is different, and everyone’s therapy journey looks different.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

“What you seek is seeking you.”

– Rumi

You will know if I am the right therapist for you if my words resonate with you and make you feel understood. My goal isn’t to help everyone; it’s to help those that know the unique pain of CPTSD and narcissistic abuse.
I invite you to take the courageous first step of defining the possibilities that await you on the other side of healing.

What techniques do you use to treat CPTSD and Narcissistic Abuse?

I will use a combination of evidence based trauma informed treatments and other techniques depending on your unique needs. This includes talk therapy, EMDR and other techniques helpful for healing CPTSD or narcissistic abuse.

What makes you a great therapist?

I’ve been in the position you are in now. I fought like hell to get out from under it all, and to heal. I chose to specialize in CPTSD and narcissistic abuse recovery because I’m passionate about helping others find their way out too. Treating people with complex trauma is one of the greatest honors of my life. A lot of people are well intentioned, but they don’t get why you are how you are, or why you behave in the ways you do. It’s hard for those who haven’t lived it to understand the true gravity of the anguish you’ve experienced. I get you. Give me a call to get started feeling better now.
